Full Description:
• What’s involved with this role:
1 To manage and control all the registration of works on the highway as required by NRSWA and the Traffic Management Act 2004.
2 To co-ordinate Undertakers street works, Highways Authority’s road works and other events to avoid conflict and to minimise inconvenience and disruption.
3 To assist the Traffic and Network Manager with the supervision of the workload of the Senior Public Utilities Inspector, PU Inspector, the Street Works Administrator and any other staff that may fall into this work area from time to time and to assume day to day responsibility for the work, performance etc of the Street Works Administrator.
4 To monitor Utilities performance including collation of inspection results, production of performance statistics etc. Assist Head of Section/Traffic and Network Manager to produce periodic reports as required by EDMT, DMT etc.
5 To organise Sample Inspections of works for the team and decide on the most efficient route for inspection.
6 To administer income from statutory undertakers with regard to fees for inspections and defects and Section 74 penalties/fines.
7 To ensure that works on the highway comply with current NRSWA Codes of Practice with regards to materials, workmanship and health and safety legislation.
8 To resolve queries from undertakers, contractors and other work promoters. Oversee reports to Network Administrator on defect reports from other sections of the Environment Directorate.

- previous experience of working as a street-works coordinator
- current knowledge and a good level of understanding of relevant legislation relating to highway matters including the Highways Act 1980, New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and the Traffic Management Act 2004
- user experience of EToN street-works system
• Other useful, but non-essential, details to include on your CV, if applicable:
- any user knowledge of CONFIRM system
- Any relevant qualifications held or being studied for
