The Role
We are looking for a Manufacturing Test Development Engineer to join our clients Operations Division which the R&D headquarters in the UK and other worldwide R&D groups.
The Test Development Engineer role provides test engineering expertise for new and existing products or group of products. It requires a strong demonstration of core engineering skills, design concepts/principles and diagnostic capabilities.
Primary responsibilities include:
Develop test programs and scripts for contract manufacturers for new (NPI) and existing products.
Specifying the test equipment required and supervising its installation and training at the contact manufacturing site.
Resolve product failure issues during manufacturing processes and RMA service centre.
Engaging with the R&D teams to ensure that Design for Test (DFT) and Design for Manufacture (DFM) are incorporated into the product development process
Validate new software released on existing products, to ensure that it does not cause issue with the manufacturing tests that are in place.
Design the test plan for product or groups of products.
Must HaveA 2i or 1st class Honours Degree (MSc preferred) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, Manufacturing, Computer Science or related subject and will be supported by A or B grade A levels.
Experience developing/writing tests for complex electronic hardware (ideally network or telecom products)
Scripting language or Object Orientated language skills (Ruby or C++)
Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
Continuous Manufacturing Quality Improvement.
