Full Description:
• What’s involved:
1. To provide professional advice to outside agencies/bodies, other departments of the authority and the public on Building Regulation matters.
2. Checking applications for compliance with the Regulations and issuing decisions within the prescribed period.
3. Carry out inspections of building work in progress to ensure compliance with the Regulations having particular regard to the need for additional record keeping for works carried out under the Building Notice procedure including any necessary enforcement action to ensure final compliance.
4. Keep adequate records for all building schemes detailing all inspection, contravening work and remedial works carried out.
5. Respond to reports relating to Dangerous Structures, investigate and assess, prepare reports and take action as necessary to eliminate any danger. If necessary arrange for work to be carried out, arrange recovery of expenses.
6. Maintain an active surveillance of the area noting dangerous buildings, unauthorised works and instigation of appropriate action.
7. Respond to Demolition Notifications carrying out necessary site inspections and notifications.
8. Liaise with Development Control officers to ensure effective monitoring of building work.
